"Raised in Henderson, NC, my YMCA career started at the young of 15 as a junior counselor working with youth camps. Since then I have worked in four other Y's both full and part time. After graduating from college in late 2007 with a degree in Fitness and Wellness Management, I was fortunate enought to have the opportunity to come to the Wilson Family YMCA. I truly believe the Y is a place for all. Being a part of an organization that offers wonderful programs, both on site and in the community is a privilege."

"I joined the Wilson Family YMCA in September 2015. I have over 20 years’ experience in accounting and business management, as well as 12 years involvement in the fitness industry. The YMCA offers something for everyone such as healthy living, community, and outreach programs. This is why I like my work here and appreciate being part of an organization with a great purpose. I love being with my family and also enjoy fitness training at the Y, gardening and nature watching."

"The Y is my happy place! I have been a member of the Y since 2010 and taught group fitness classes here for many years before joining the leadership team. I have an Associates of Applied Science in Apparel Design and Services. My love for design has led me into a career in Marketing. I enjoy using my creative side within my position and being a part of the Wilson Family YMCA team. The Y's commitment to Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility are important to me and my family. I believe our community is stronger because of the work we do."

"I arrived in Wilson in 2005, via St. Louis, Mo. I graduated from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with a degree in Parks and Recreation. In 2014, I was given the extraordinary opportunity to join the Wilson Family YMCA as the Member Services Director.
The YMCA's three areas of focus; For Youth Development, For Healthy Living, For Social Responsibility allows me to combine my passion for my community with the work that we do every day at the Y. Diversity in my surroundings is very important to me. I am proud to work for an organization that welcomes and celebrates everyone who walks through our doors. As Member Services Director, I have the privilege to meet people where they are, connect with them and share with them, the Y message of inclusivity."

 


Julia Harold

"Growing up in the sport of gymnastics and owning a competitive gymnastics facility for eleven years, afforded me the opportunity to accept the position of Gymnastics Director at the Wilson Family YMCA in 2001. For the past 17 years my four children along with my husband and I, have enjoyed numerous Y activities and programs such as; the Kids Triathlon, the Father/Daughter Dance, the aquatics program, Childwatch, gymnastics classes and much more. I love teaching gymnastics for so many reasons but my most important objective, as a gymnastics coach, is to build confidence and self-esteem in our students during every class. I am honored to be a small part of an organization whose goal is to make our community stronger and healthier."

"I have been with the Wilson Family YMCA almost since its beginning. Currently I am the supervisor for our incredibly talented and dedicated personal training staff. I have a master’s degree in Exercise Science and I am an ACSM certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and an ACE Personal Trainer. My experience with cardiac rehab and post rehab training leads me to work mainly with individuals in recovery or hoping to maintain their functionality as they age."

 

 


Nancy Stocks
Group Fitness Coordinator

"My husband and I joined the Y in December 2001. In 2003, I obtained my group fitness certification and started teaching group fitness classes and continue to do so today. Prior to working with my husband in the photography business in 2001, I was a paralegal for sixteen years. I loved that position, but I have always been interested in fitness. Around 2012, I obtained my personal training certification and started working as a personal trainer at the Y part time in addition to teaching my group fitness classes. Shortly thereafter, I became the Group Fitness Coordinator. Although my job can be time consuming at times, I enjoy scheduling classes and working with the instructors. We, by far, have the greatest team of instructors around. I continue to train individuals as well as teach classes. In addition to my group fitness and personal training certifications, I am also certified in kettlebell, indoor cycling, barre, TRX, senior fitness, nutrition, weight training, and women's fitness."

Child Watch Director/Pool Supervisor

"My name is Johna Blair Kite and I began my career at the Y as a group fitness instructor. The Y Childwatch services provided a safe and fun place for my then young children while I taught classes or worked out. As a parent and school teacher I know the importance of safety and quality care. I am proud to be the coordinator of Childwatch and will work to provide the best for our members and their families."
