We have seen a lot of local medical professionals asking for help with PPE, especially homemade masks. Just a reminder that we are a drop-off point for personal protective equipment, sanitizer and disinfectant for our medical community.

There is someone at the Wilson Family YMCA from 9 AM - 4 PM Monday-Friday (even though the parking lot looks empty - someone IS here!). You can drop off here, and we will arrange to get supplies to our friends in need.

We are also willing to pick up. Please call us at 252-291-9622 or email Kathie Davis at kdavis@wilsonymca.org to arrange pick-up of supplies to help keep our medical friends safe and healthy.

If you are making homemade masks or interested in helping in that way, here are some tips and videos provided by Vidant Medical to get you going:

  • For all masks, please use clean, tightly-woven cotton fabric on both sides, and sew on a clean work surface.
  • Please place face masks in ziplock-style plastic bags for donation.
