At the YMCA, kids develop all of their skills, from running and lifting to teamwork and leadership. Just as important, they learn firsthand the benefits of being healthy & active and that virtual games just can't compare to the real thing. Youth Programs are offered year-round and we always need great coaches for our Girls on the Run and STRIDE programs. Use your talents to encourage, guide and train young athletes at the Y! We offer Gymnastics, Teen Synrgy, Fit Friends, Homeschool YouthFit, Girls on the Run, STRIDE, Summer Swim Lessons and more!
Our Youth Fitness Programs are designed so children have fun while getting in a great workout. No two workouts are the same. We combine a variety of fitness games with the use of strength and cardio machines. We also hold seminars throughout the school year to educate our families on nutritional needs and healthy habits. Unless otherwise specified, classes are all held in the Robin Givens Youth Wellness Center.
Homeschool YouthFit is designed so students have fun while getting in a great workout. No two workouts are the same. We combine a variety of fitness games with the use of strength and cardio machines. Ages 6-12 meet on Monday & Wednesday from 1:15-2 pm.
Members $10/month per child (not to exceed $30/month per family)
Non-Members $20/month per child; $10 each additional child (not to exceed $40/month per family)
Classes begin September 11 and end May 30.
No classes will be held on November 20 & 22, December 18-January 1, and April 2-6.

Fit Friends is a group exercise class for participants and their CAP staff person. The Y offers a wide variety of activities while providing a safe routine and physical outlet.
Benefits of Fit Friends:
• Builds self-esteem.
• Improves social interaction.
• Improves focus and function of daily living skills.
• Weight loss.
• Reduction of anxiety.
• Have fun while getting fit.
• Allows for release of positive and or negative energy resulting in productive output.
Classes are held on Monday 4-4:45pm.
Classes begin August 15 and end December 12 and will be held unless the Y is closed for the day.

Robin Givens Youth Wellness Center
The Robin Givens Youth Wellness Center is named in memory of YMCA friend, Robin Givens. Robin was a loving wife and mother of three who did triathlons, operated a horse camp and served as president of Imagination Station's Board of Directors. She also taught Power Cut and Cycling classes at the Wilson Family YMCA. Robin exuded all that the Y stands for. She was an inspiration to all who knew her promoting spiritual, mental and physical well-being.
The Youth Wellness Center houses youth-sized weight machines and cardio equipment along with some adult-sized cardio equipment so families can work out together. There is also a Free Weight area featuring light free weights for those who want a place to use free weights in a more private area. The Game Room is open Monday-Friday from 8am-8pm and has various interactive video games along with board games and other toys. Children ages 6 and up are able to use the equipment and game room, but must first schedule a free orientation with our Wellness Director, David Caudle.
In addition to the youth features, the Youth Wellness Center is the home of the Robin Givens & John Lantz Cycling Room which is where you will find over13 cycling classes offered each week. Cycling classes do fill up in the evenings so be sure to call Membership Services to reserve your spot the day of the class you plan to attend.
You may enter the Youth Wellness Center through our back entrance which is open from 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and from 8am-12pm on Saturday.
THE ROBIN RUN
Funds raised through the Robin Run were instrumental in creating the Youth Wellness Center and are instrumental in its improvement and growth. The Robin Run is a family-friendly 5K and an annual event in Wilson.
