Be goal oriented!
At the YMCA, kids develop all of their skills, from running and lifting to teamwork and leadership. Just as important, they learn firsthand the benefits of being healthy & active and that virtual games just can't compare to the real thing. Youth Programs are offered year-round and we always need great coaches for our Girls on the Run and STRIDE programs. Use your talents to encourage, guide and train young athletes at the Y! We offer Gymnastics, Teen Synrgy, Fit Friends, Homeschool YouthFit, Girls on the Run, STRIDE and more!
Our Youth Fitness Programs are designed so children have fun while getting in a great workout. No two workouts are the same. We combine a variety of fitness games with the use of strength and cardio machines. We also hold seminars throughout the school year to educate our families on nutritional needs and healthy habits. Unless otherwise specified, classes are all held in the Robin Givens Youth Wellness areas.
2BFit Physical Education Program
The Y wants all children to have the knowledge and skills necessary to stay healthy and active. Beginning this training while young will encourage healthy lifestyle habits from childhood into adulthood. Our 2BFit physical education program provides an opportunity for your child to participate in-person twice a week in social teamwork, character building, and physical activities.
Facilitated by trained and certified YMCA staff, students will participate in activities that increase their strength and endurance, build self-esteem, improve coordination, encourage team building, and promote healthy habits.

Robin Givens Youth Wellness Center
The Robin Givens Youth Wellness Center is named in memory of YMCA friend, Robin Givens. Robin was a loving wife and mother of three who did triathlons, operated a horse camp and served as president of Imagination Station's Board of Directors. She also taught Power Cut and Cycling classes at the Wilson Family YMCA. Robin exuded all that the Y stands for. She was an inspiration to all who knew her promoting spiritual, mental and physical well-being.
Our Youth Wellness Center houses a youth cardio room with a TV to watch while exercising (located in the area formally known as the Game Room). The youth-sized strength equipment is now located outside of Wellness Director David Caudle's office. Members ages 6 and up are able to use the youth equipment, but must first schedule a free orientation with David.
Our newly renovated HIIT Room houses a smaller freeweight area with weights from 3lbs to 25lbs, SYNRGY station, and TRX rig for the adults, along with two treadmills, two ellipticals, two stairs climbers, a rower and bike for cardio. There is also a filtered water bottle station. Because of the type of equipment in the HIIT Room, the space is for ages 14+, but our 10-13 year old members may use the TRX rig with adult supervision.
In addition, we also have the Robin Givens & John Lantz Cycling Room where you will find cycling classes offered daily.
THE ROBIN RUN
Funds raised through the Robin Run were instrumental in creating the Youth Wellness Center and are instrumental in its improvement and growth. The Robin Run is a family-friendly 5K and an annual event in Wilson. The Eighteenth Annual Robin Run 5K is scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2021. Click here for more information on this year's event.
